This Ram 3500 came in looking a little tired, but it left shining like new after a full detail and single-stage machine polish. Here’s how I brought it back to life step by step.

Step 1: Prep and Initial Cleaning

I started by removing all the floor mats to prep the interior and exterior. Then I popped the hood and got to work cleaning the floor mats, wheels and tires, and engine bay. Taking care of these first ensures dirt and grime don’t splash back onto freshly cleaned paint later.

Step 2: Exterior Wash and Decontamination

Next came a full foam pre-wash using my foam cannon. I let the soap dwell to loosen dirt safely before rinsing it away. Then I followed up with a secondary foam and contact wash using microfiber wash mitts for a scratch-free clean. During this step, I also performed a clay bar (or clay mitt) treatment over the entire truck to remove any embedded contaminants from the paint. After a final rinse, I used both air and towels to completely dry the truck. Once dry, I used isopropyl alcohol to remove stubborn tree sap and surface residue, leaving the paint perfectly clean and ready for polishing.

Step 3: Machine Polish & Paint Enhancement

I used a light-cut, one-step swirl remover to refine the paint, remove light scratches, and restore a deep gloss. This single-stage polish really brought out the shine, giving the Ram’s paint a smooth, mirror-like finish.

Step 4: Interior Detail

Inside the truck, I gave every surface a thorough spray-and-wipe cleaning, followed by Mothers VLR to clean, condition, and protect vinyl, leather, and rubber surfaces. This left the interior looking fresh, supple, and protected against UV damage.

Step 5: Final Protection

To finish off the job, I applied Gyeon WetCoat, a spray-on ceramic protection for the exterior. It enhances gloss, boosts water beading, and helps keep the paint cleaner for longer.

The end result? A Ram 3500 that looks brand new again — deep gloss on the paint, spotless wheels and engine bay, and a clean, protected interior ready for the road.
