At New Again Detailing, we don’t just clean vehicles—we revive them. Every once in a while, we get the chance to work on something truly special. Recently, we had the pleasure of detailing a classic Ford F250 Ranger—a piece of automotive history that deserved nothing less than a full exterior refresh to bring its iconic lines and chrome accents back to life.
This wasn’t just a wash and go. This was a deep, methodical process to restore the finish, revive the trim, and bring out the truck’s original character—without compromising its age or patina.
Step 1: Full Decontamination & Clay Bar Treatment
We started with a complete exterior wash and decontamination, removing years of embedded dirt, road grime, and surface fallout that a normal wash can’t touch. The next step was a clay bar treatment—a must when working on older vehicles—to remove bonded contaminants from the paint and prep it for polishing. This process leaves the surface glass-smooth and ready for correction.
Step 2: One-Step Cut & Polish
With the surface properly prepped, we moved on to a one-step polish using a cutting polish and a polishing pad. This allowed us to remove oxidation, light defects, and dullness from the paint in one pass—perfect for older vehicles where preserving as much of the original paint as possible is important.
The result was a deep, glossy finish that brought out the truck’s original color and body lines.
Step 3: Metal Polishing & Trim Restoration
The vintage chrome and aluminum trim were showing their age, so we hand-polished the metal to remove tarnish and bring back its shine. We also performed a black trim restoration on the faded plastics to give them a rich, rejuvenated look—without making them unnaturally glossy.
When you’re working with a classic like this F250, those finishing touches make all the difference.
Step 4: Tires, Glass & Final Details
To complete the exterior, we cleaned and dressed the tires to a natural satin finish—not greasy or overdone—just clean and bold. We then cleaned all exterior glass and mirrors for crystal-clear clarity.
When we stepped back, the transformation was undeniable. This truck looked decades younger, but still retained all its original charm and character.
